STEP 1: THE TITLE: CRASH

I think the title is "Crash" because the film start with a car crash

STEP 2: THE OPENING MONOLOGUE

1. (2.51 – 5.54) Read the opening monologue.

 

Graham has just crashed.  The car is now stopped.  This is what he says: “It's the sense of touch. Any real city, you walk, you know?, you brush past people. People bump into you. In L.A., nobody touches you.  We're always behind this metal and glass. I think we miss that touch so much that we crash into each other just so that we can feel something.”  

 1.1.*Discuss the meaning of these words.  

1.2.*How do you think the woman sitting right next to him (the driver) is going to respond to this?  

 I think the man doesn't expect an answer

 1.3.The woman sitting next to Graham leaves the car and goes to where the police officer and the other driver are.  What kind of problem do you perceive in the conversation you hear?  Choose one and explain. -       an age gap problem -       a racial issue -       tension due to unsolved problems these two women had before.

A racial issue, because the Chinese women say to Ria some racial insults.

1.4.Graham goes to where his colleagues are working.  What have they found?  How does Graham react to that?

 He found a shoe and his brother's body (dead). Graham gets sad and he made a "flashback"

Farhad and his daughter Dorri want to buy a gun. Farhad  have problems with Dirk, the owner
of the shop. Dorri
